Our Story
In 2011, our CEO & Founder Lubomir Silhavy opened his first office and coworking centre in Florida, with 120 offices. The offices filled up quickly, and soon the first networking events followed, laying the foundations for a community of experts. Five years later, the concept made its way to Prague, where WorkLounge opened its first location at Forum Karlín.
2026
WorkLounge celebrates 10 years!
It’s been 10 years since WorkLounge was founded – and an anniversary like this deserved a proper celebration. Together with our members, we enjoyed an evening full of great atmosphere, conversations, dancing, photos and excellent food. WorkLounge at its best.
We also marked the occasion by officially opening our newest event venue – the industrial-style Event House at Forum Karlín. A unique space ready to host corporate events, conferences, workshops and social gatherings.
2025
WorkLounge Dejvice opens
In February 2025, the first tenants moved into their new offices at Dejvice, in the iconic Telehouse building. Alongside offices, the location offers a spacious event venue, coworking, a lounge, open-plan office space, shared workspaces, a podcast room and, of course, the full range of WorkLounge services.
2024
Two more locations open
In spring, we successfully opened the second floor of the City Point building, adding beautiful, modern spaces with impressive views and the full WorkLounge standard at Pankrác.
In September, we opened WorkLounge Žižkov, offering highly competitive prices and fully private offices.
2023
We take over Příkopy and expand our team and portfolio
In 2023, we took over the Příkopy location and added it to our portfolio of serviced office locations. Our management team grew, and towards the end of the year we acquired the City Point building, bringing it into our direct ownership.
2022
Smíchov gets a new look!
Our Smíchov location expanded to occupy the entire building. We began preparing the terrace, completely transformed the lounge and further expanded the range of offices, coworking and services available in Prague 5.
2021
We welcome our first members to Smíchov
In 2021, despite the pandemic, we opened our third WorkLounge location in our own building on Plzeňská Street in Smíchov.
We also launched WorkLounge Living in Žižkov, one of the first truly modern co-living concepts in the Czech Republic, which remained fully occupied throughout its operation.
2019
WorkLounge grows in Prague – Karlín and Wenceslas Square
In September 2019, we expanded our Forum Karlín location with additional space and opened another location directly on Wenceslas Square.
Around the same time, the founder’s daughters joined the team and became involved in running the locations. You’ll still often see Denča and Verča around WorkLounge.
2016
Our first Prague location! Forum Karlín
With our first Prague location at Forum Karlín, we brought serviced offices and coworking to the Czech Republic, along with the idea that going to the office can actually be something to look forward to. And most importantly, the offices filled up incredibly quickly.
2011
Our first coworking space opens in the US
Our first location opened in Cape Coral, Florida – a place WorkLounge members can still visit today. It’s where it all started and continues to be a thriving coworking and serviced office location. In some years, the waiting list for offices grew to remarkable lengths.
I wanted WorkLounge to be a place that combines a professional working environment with comfort, creativity and a friendly atmosphere. And that combination continues to inspire me as WorkLounge evolves.
From our first location, we’ve gradually grown into a complete workspace ecosystem for individuals, teams and companies. As we grow, our scale and possibilities change, but what matters most remains the same – creating places where people can work well.
